 Rocket League is a vehicular soccer video game developed and published by Psyonix. The game was first released for Microsoft Windows and PlayStation 4 in July 2015, with ports for Xbox One, macOS, Linux, and Nintendo Switch being released later on. In June 2016, 505 Games began distributing a physical retail version for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment taking over those duties by the end of 2017.

Star Wars Battlefront Rogue One

Star Wars Battlefront 2

  With one of the most lucrative IP licenses under its belt, Electronic Arts understandably intends to pump out as many Star Wars games as it can. During an earnings call today, the publisher’s chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen confirmed that EA intends to release a new Star Wars game every year from 2017 onwards – for at least the next three to four years.Speaking more specifically, it looks like another Star Wars Battlefront game will release as soon as 2017. “Next year we’ll see Star Wars Battlefront back with bigger and better worlds, because we now have the new movies to work off [and] not just the historical movies that we used before,” Jorgensen said.Of course, there are other Star Wars games in the offing: Visceral’s contribution to the canon will resemble the aborted Star Wars 1313 project – basically an Uncharted-esque cinematic third-person action game – and will be a collaboration with EA’s Motive studio, which is helmed by former Assassin’s Creed producer Jade Raymond. Jorgensen says that game will release “most likely the following year.”Meanwhile, yet another third-person Star Wars game is in development at Respawn, the studio responsible for Titanfall (and the forthcoming Titanfall 2).Star Wars Battlefront released late last year to mixed reviews, with our Andy Kelly writing that it “brilliantly captures the look and feel of classic Star Wars, but beneath its cinematic flair lies a pretty generic multiplayer shooter.”

NieR: Automata

The action-RPG Nier was released in 2010 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and it was fairly okay stuff: Reviews were “mixed,” as they say, although Eurogamer last year credited it as one of the rare games that seems to get better as it gets older. (Even there, it qualified that judgment by saying Nier was “always more interesting than it was ‘good’.”) Despite that tepid response, Square Enix announced last year that a sequel, entitled Nier: Automata, is in development for the PlayStation 4 from developer Platinum Games and series mastermind Taro Yoko. And today, it revealed that the new game is coming to the PC as well.
In Nier: Automata, humanity has been forced to flee the Earth by invading aliens and their devastating secret weapon, “the machines.” From a base on the moon, the surviving humans tried to stem the machine tide with their own army of androids, but were only able to slow the advance; now, in an effort to turn things around, a “new breed of android infantry” known as the YoRHa Squad is sent into the battle.
“In the forsaken wasteland below, the war between the machines and the androids rages on,” the announcement says. “A war that is soon to unveil the long-forgotten truth of this world…”
That truth may have something to do with how Nier and Nier: Automata are connected. The original was about a chap named Nier and his quest to find a cure for a devastating illness known as the Black Scrawl, while the sequel “tells the story of androids 2B, 9S and A2 and their battle to reclaim a machine-driven dystopia overrun by powerful weapons known as machine lifeforms.” Thematic connections, perhaps: “What can change the nature of a man” and all that, spread across a multi-title franchise?

For Honor

To Honor is a hack and slash video game in development by Ubisoft Montreal and ready to be published by Ubisoft for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It was announced at the 2015 Electronic Entertainment Expo. The game features a hand-to-hand combat system described as “The Art of Battle” by developers and allows players to play the roles of historical soldiers as medieval knights, samurai, and Vikings.
To Honor is a non-fantasy hack and slash video game set in the medieval period. Players can play as a character from three different factions, namely the Legion, The Chosen and The Warborn. The three factions represent knight, samurai and Vikings, respectively. Different classes have different abilities and weapons, and customization will be available for players. For example, the gender of the characters, and armor worn by them, can be modified and customized.
Players battle against each other with melee weapons such as axes and swords. The game offers competitive multiplayer modes that can support up to eight players, which will be evenly divided into two teams. When a game begins, players will be accompanied by many AI teammates, who help the players. Points, temporary and permanent, can be won in a game. When a team wins enough points, they must remove the players from the other team. Once all players on a team are eliminated, the game ends. When players kill a number of enemies consecutively, they can level up and gain Feats, which are additional benefits. These advantages allow players to earn points and additional forces, call for a barrage of arrows or a catapult attack, or heal themselves.

Pro Evolution Soccer has its work cut out if it’s to beat FIFA this year – but if anyone can do it, Konami can.
Despite critical acclaim, PES 2017 couldn’t keep up with FIFA 17’s sales.
